The first time I heard about the Boogeyman

Once when I was at my aunt’s house with my family when I was 4, we were playing hide and seek.
My big brother told me to hide under the bed (we were playing in the night). When they found us my cousin told me to hide under the bed because of Boogeyman.
She told me the false story but ever since I heard it I’ve been scared.
My room is still clean, heck I'm only 8!
