It is said that they take the dreams from bad children and make them real.

Billions of years ago they roamed earth making nightmares real and killing thousands. They soon got in a war with the king of the underworld himself.

Any of these monsters left were captured and forced to work. If any of them ever escaped - they would destroy all gods and make earth a living nightmare.
